What is the EdTech Incubator (ETI)?
The ETI is an innovation hub at The Ohio State University that supports teaching, learning and research through emerging educational technologies. Located on the fourth floor of the Health Sciences Library in Prior Hall, the ETI provides shared spaces, expertise and hands‑on access to advanced tools that enhance education and training.
Its purpose is to empower enhanced education and inspire forward‑thinking research, particularly in the health sciences. It focuses on academic innovation, helping educators, learners and researchers explore how technology can improve instruction, skill development and experiential learning.
Who can use the zones?
The ETI is available to anyone at Ohio State and Wexner Medical Center, with outside requests considered on a case‑by‑case basis.
What kind of technology is available at ETI?
ETI features multiple technology zones, including 3D printing, virtual reality, virtual cadavers and medical scans, a high‑end computer lab, a tech‑equipped classroom and THE Studio for video and audio production.
Is the EdTech Incubator only for health sciences?
Whie the ETI primarily supports those in the health sciences discipline, its resources are also used by those from other disciplines.
Do I need to be highly technical to use the ETI?
No, the ETI supports users with a wide range of technical experience. In fact, workshops and guided access to technology zones are available to help users get started and build skills over time.
How do people typically use the ETI?
Common ETI uses include creating instructional materials, conducting simulations and workshops, prototyping research ideas and exploring new approaches to education.
How do I access or reserve ETI spaces?
ETI spaces and technology zones are available by request. Users can submit a reservation or inquiry through the EdTech Incubator website to book a zone, schedule a tour or explore collaboration opportunities. You can find and register for workshops and events held by the ETI, as well.
