Even Health Sciences Library (HSL) staff continue to grow their skills in the EdTech Incubator (ETI)! Our Introduction to 3D Modeling in Blender workshop series intrigued the library’s Medical Visuals team, Anthony Baker and Courtney Chenock.
Courtney’s Exploration of 3D Modeling
Courtney reflects positively on the time spent in Blender, learning how to model a blood vessel in 3D from Thomas Ellsworth, learning and development consultant.
As a medical illustrator, Courtney values continued education to deliver cutting-edge work to her clients.
“The ability to produce 3D models and animations is an important skill for medical illustrators, particularly as client demand for this type of work continues to grow,” shared Courtney. “Prior to this training, I had been actively seeking opportunities to expand my 3D modeling skills. This workshop served as an effective introduction back into 3D workflows, helping me rebuild foundational knowledge.”
She found learning Blender’s 3D hotkeys to be an especially useful takeaway from Thomas’ workshop series.
With growing knowledge and confidence in her skills, Courtney decided to pursue further education in 3D modeling.
“Participating in the workshop before beginning a more advanced 3D modeling bootcamp gave me a stronger baseline and made the transition feel more manageable,” said Courtney.
No matter your skill level, the ETI proudly supports your learning and innovation. Thank you, Courtney, for participating in this recent series and sharing your experience!
